What We Are Learning: April 2025

Math

  • Students will learn how to add and subtract numbers up to 1,000.
  • They will use different ways to solve problems.
  • Students will also work on word problems that have more than one step.

Literacy

  • Students will write and share a paragraph that tells about a topic.
  • This paragraph will have a topic sentence, details to support it, and a closing sentence.
  • They will also write about what they read.

Science

  • Students will learn about how plants adapt to their environment.
  • Students learning about the flag of Trinidad and Tobego
  • Students listening to Assistant Principal Ms. Jennifer Velasco
  • Students sharing a book at a desk
  • Students sitting together on the floor sharing a book

Home Connection

  • Please make sure your child reads daily at home AND practices how to read with fluency.
  • Talk with your child about the books they are reading. Ask: How would you describe the characters? How do you know? 

Important Dates

  • Monday, April 7: Class 2-303 will go on a field trip to The Tenement Museum.
  • Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18: There will be NO SCHOOL for Spring Break.
  • Friday, April 25: Join us for the Parent Association Meeting and Family Fun Night at 6:00 PM.
