What We Are Learning: February 2025
Math
- Students will keep using the rules of math, how numbers relate to each other, and their understanding of place value to add and subtract numbers up to 200.
- They will use these skills to solve different word problems.
Literacy
- Students will tell stories by including details about the characters, where the story happens, the problem, and how it gets solved.
- They will write and share a paragraph that gives information about a topic.
- Students will write responses based on what they read.
Social Studies
- Students will explore how New York City has changed over time.
- They will look at what changed and why those changes happened.
Home Connection
- Skip count by 10s off the decade
- Example: (3, 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, 63…)
- Count back by 10s off the decade
- Example: (214, 204, 194, 184, 174, 164…)
- Please make sure your child reads every day at home and practices reading smoothly.
Important Dates
- Friday, 2/7: Parent Association Meeting and Scholastic Book Fair at 6:00 pm
- Saturday, 2/8: Scholastic Book Fair at 10:00 am
- Monday, 2/17 - Friday, 2/21: Winter Break, no school
