  Exciting Event Announcement: Free Online Autism Conference!

  Join us for a FREE Online Autism Conference hosted by the Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder at SUNY Old Westbury! This special event will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

  What’s Happening?

  We will be learning about how to support children with autism at home, in school, and in the community. This is a great chance for educators, paraprofessionals, families, and caregivers to gain valuable insights!

  Building Brain Power: Helping Kids Stay Organized and On Track

  Are you looking for ways to help your child remember directions, manage their time, and think before acting? Join us for our exciting series of workshops designed just for families!

  Time: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  Location: PS 181, 1023 New York Ave., Brooklyn

  In these workshops, we will explore executive functioning, which is all about how kids plan, remember, and control their actions. Sometimes, kids forget things, rush through tasks, or get stuck. We will discuss why this happens and share simple strategies to help them stay on track.

  What You Will Learn:

  • What is executive functioning and why is it important?
  • Why do kids struggle with memory, time, and impulse control?
  • Practical tools to help your child remember steps, manage their time, and pause before acting.

  District 24 Town Hall Meeting Talking About Keeping Kids Safe

  NYC Public Schools District 24 and the Office of Safety & Youth Development are having a meeting to talk about keeping our middle school and high school students safe. We want to share important information with families and everyone in our community.

  We will be talking about two important things:

  • Subway Surfing: This is when kids ride on the outside of subway trains, and it's very dangerous.
  • Human Trafficking: This is when people trick or force others to do things they don't want to do.

  We want to help everyone understand these dangers and know how to keep our students safe.

  Helpful Information:

  If you speak Spanish, Bangla, or Mandarin, someone will be there to help you understand.

  We will also have some light snacks to eat.
