Please note: Due to the pandemic and its impact on families, we are not asking for any school supplies at this time. Should we need any supplies in the future, we will contact you with any requests.

NYC Schools Account
NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) lets you to see and manage important information about your child on any computer, phone, or tablet. In the account, you can see a child’s:
- Attendance
- Grades & Report Cards
- Guardians
- Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Emergency Contact & Student Health Information
- COVID-19 Testing Consent Form
- Media consent form
- DOE account password

Emergency Contact Card
Please fill out your Emergency Contact Card (blue paper) in your welcome packet, online on your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) account, or request another copy from the school. It is very important that the school has this information as soon as possible.
The form is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Urdu, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Korean, and French.
Media Consent
In the packet there is a media consent form, which allows us to take pictures or videos of your child. This form is available on your New York City Schools Account (NYCSA) portal, where you can sign and submit the form electronically. You can also return the form to the school or request another copy from the school.

DOE School Year Calendar
This is the 2021–22 school year calendar for all K–12 NYCDOE public schools. Please note the following reminders:
- November 2, Election Day, will be a fully remote, asynchronous instructional day for all students.
- On “snow days” or days when school buildings are closed due to an emergency, all students and families should plan on participating in remote learning.
- Parent-teacher conference dates at The Children's Lab School are not reflected accurately on this calendar. Please check our school's calendar for the most accurate dates.
Sunnyside Community Services After School
Sunnyside Community Services is back with programming for the whole family! Starting 9/20/2021, Sunnyside Community Services will be providing after school services for grades K to 5. Beginning in October, services will expand to middle school, high school, and adults for exclusive classes and events--all provided for free! If you would like to sign up for the afterschool, evening, or weekend services, please pick up an application at PS 343 from 10:30 am to 5 pm. Alternatively, you can email cwatts@scsny.org or give us a call at 917-502-4087/718-361-3300 extension 6 during business hours.
School Uniform
As we return to the school building this year, it is more important than ever that we help all students feel that they belong to the Children’s Lab School. School uniforms are one way to foster that sense of community and belonging. We do have a mandatory uniform policy. Check out the Children's Lab School's English/ Spanish uniform policy. Parent Guide and Cell Phone policy
According to the NYC Chancellors Regulations (A-413), students are permitted to bring the following electronic items to school: cell phones, laptops, tablets, iPads and other similar computing devices, and portable music and entertainment systems (such as iPods, MP3 players, PSP and Nintendo DS).
Cell phones may be used as set forth below:
During the school day: Cell phones may not be turned on or used while on school property. Parents should not call or text their children's cell phones during the school day. Parents wishing to contact their children or their teachers should call the main office at (718) 361-3300.
Computing devices may be used as set forth below:
During the school day: Computing systems may not be turned on or used during instructional time, except for instructional and educational purposes with the explicit approval of the teacher.
Portable music and entertainment systems may be used as set forth below:
During the school day: Portable music devices and entertainment systems may not be turned on or used while on school property.
Confiscation and return of electronic items
School-based policies must describe the procedures for the confiscation, storage and return of electronic devices. In determining whether to confiscate an electronic device, schools should consider the nature of the violation. Where appropriate, measures should be instituted in a progressive fashion.
